About the Faculty

The Faculty of Astrological Studies was founded at 19.50 BST on 7th June 1948 in London, England.

The Faculty’s aim then and now is to raise the standard of astrological education. Since its establishment, the Faculty has become known worldwide as a first class astrological teaching body and its Diploma, the D.F.Astrol.S., is among the most highly valued and recognised international qualifications for the professional astrologer.

The Faculty annual Summer School is one of the world’s best-known astrological events, attracting students from many countries to the beautiful city of Oxford to enjoy the weekend and five-day courses..

The programme caters for a range of levels, from relative beginners through to students and practitioners at advanced or professional level. With our world-class team of experienced guest tutors providing an exciting and dynamic programme of study, Summer School offers you a chance to work in depth with astrology, developing knowledge of new subjects and techniques, and deepening your understanding of existing ones.

DFAstrolS

is the President and Head Tutor of the Faculty and has taught with the school since 2006. She gained her Diploma in 1996 and the MA in Cultural Astronomy and Astrology from Bath Spa University in 2007. Her interests in healing, Jungian and transpersonal psychology, goddess spirituality and the Western Mysteries, inform her approach to astrology, which includes the ways in which we work psychologically, experientially and ritually with symbols and with myth.

Brian Clark

is the creator of the Astro*Synthesis distance learning program which has been shaped from his experience as an astrological student, counsellor and educator. He is the author of many student publications, articles and books. Brian has his MA in Classics and Archaeology from the University of Melbourne and has been honoured with lifetime membership from the state, national and professional astrological organizations in Australia.

FFAstrolS

is a psychotherapist and has been a practising astrologer and teacher since 1990. She was a tutor and supervisor at the Centre for Psychological Astrology, and President of the Faculty of Astrological Studies for nine years. She has written a three-volume introduction to psychological astrology: Mapping the Psyche and Alchemy: The Soul of Astrology. Her latest book, Star-Crossed, explores the astrology of personality theory.

DFAstrolS

is a London-based astrologer who gained the Faculty Diploma in 2008 and an MA in Cultural Astronomy and Astrology from the University of Wales Trinity Saint David in 2012. She is a tutor and the Treasurer of the Faculty. Her approach to astrology is inspired by Jungian ideas, particularly James Hillman’s concept of soul. She also teaches yoga, using yoga techniques to explore astrological themes.

The Gala Dinner

One of the highlights of the weekend is the Gala Dinner.

In the Dining Hall at Exeter College, you will be serenaded with musical performances, served an exceptional 3-course dinner and enjoy an after dinner speech from one of our distinguished guests. If you’ve still got energy left, stay and dance the night away!
