The Faculty annual Summer School is one of the world’s best-known astrological events, attracting students from many countries to the beautiful city of Oxford to enjoy the weekend and five-day courses.
The programme caters for a range of levels, from relative beginners through to students and practitioners at advanced or professional level. With our world-class team of experienced guest tutors providing an exciting and dynamic programme of study, Summer School offers you a chance to work in depth with astrology, developing knowledge of new subjects and techniques, and deepening your understanding of existing ones. Rod Chang
Guest Tutorhas studied astrology for over thirty years and he has spoken at several international conferences in Poland, UK, Portugal, China, Japan and Australia. Rod has been invited several times to teach at the Faculty of Astrological Studies Summer School in Oxford. His main areas of interest are fixed stars, comets, mundane astrology, financial astrology, astronomy and astromapping, and he takes a humanistic approach to astrology. R. HAKAN KIRKOĞLU
DFAstrolS, ISAR CAPwas born in Istanbul, and has studied astrology for more than forty years. A professional astrologer, writer, and international lecturer, he is also a prize-winning Faculty Diploma holder (1997). His practice brings Hellenistic principles into fruitful dialogue with modern techniques. Following a BS in Management Engineering, he holds MA degrees in History and Economics; his history thesis explored astrology at the eighteenth-century Ottoman court. Hakan has also pioneered astrology education in Turkey by founding the Wisdom of the Sky School.
JOI TONG LEE 李再唐
is a 44th-generation descendant of the Tang imperial lineage, inheriting the royal metaphysical tradition from masters including Yang Yunsong (楊筠松). Trained from childhood by his father in classical theory and embodied geomancy, he continues his family’s astrological teachings through a contemporary lens. With over sixty years’ experience in media production, he also supports Buddhist and Taoist initiatives with the World Buddhist Forum, Wudang Mountains, and the Buddhist Light International Association.
STEFANIE GUTWENGER
DFAstrolSlives in Vienna (Austria) and has been fascinated by astrology since her teenage years. In her twenties, she decided to study with the Faculty in parallel to her career in banking. After a Jupiter cycle she gained her diploma in 2019 and shortly thereafter started to work as a professional astrologer and distance learning tutor for the Faculty. Stefanie is also interested in horary astrology. In 2025 she gained the School of Traditional Astrology’s Practitioners Level Horary Course Certificate.
