The Faculty annual Summer School is one of the world’s best-known astrological events, attracting students from many countries to the beautiful city of Oxford to enjoy the weekend and five-day courses.

The programme caters for a range of levels, from relative beginners through to students and practitioners at advanced or professional level. With our world-class team of experienced guest tutors providing an exciting and dynamic programme of study, Summer School offers you a chance to work in depth with astrology, developing knowledge of new subjects and techniques, and deepening your understanding of existing ones. The Faculty will do its very best to make you feel welcome and at home. Exeter College is a very atmospheric environment with all the historic background and so many hidden treasures to discover, like the Fellow’s Garden. Lindsay Gladstone

DFAstrolS

is a consultant astrologer. She is a former Faculty Head of Exams, tutor and Summer School Registrar. Enchanted by the mysteries of the divine, she observes the contemplative route of the heart/mind philosophies of medieval Middle Eastern mystics. Archaeology and the study of shamanic practices are her abiding passions. She holds an MA in Myth, Cosmology and the Sacred from Canterbury Christ Church University.

ALEJO LÓPEZ

DFAstrolS

is a licensed psychologist with a second degree in performing arts and an MA in Cultural Astronomy and Astrology from the Sophia Centre at the University of Wales Trinity Saint David, where he received the 2023-24 Alumni Association Dissertation Prize. He is training to become a certified Jungian Analyst with the International Association of Analytical Psychology (IAAP). Alejo works as a consultant astrologer and psychologist, aiming to foster self-awareness. He believes astrology’s symbolic language enables deep dialogue with hidden aspects of the self, guiding individuals toward authentic self-discovery.

Darby Costello

began learning astrology in the late 1960s in America. She began her practice in Southern Africa in the early 70s. Coming to England in the 80s, she began teaching at the Centre for Psychological Astrology (CPA) and was soon teaching internationally. She has written several astrology books and received an MA in Cultural Astronomy and Astrology from Bath Spa University in 2006 and the Charles Harvey Award in 2013. Her consultation practice continues to be at the very heart of her working life as an astrologer.

ERIC FISCHMANN

DFAstrolS

is a teacher and a consultant astrologer who holds an MA in English and American Studies. He encountered astrology at 21 and has been a student of this art ever since. He studied with different astrologers and schools, and in 2004 he undertook a two-year training programme in Psychosynthesis before joining the Faculty of Astrological Studies as a student in 2006. He now teaches for the Faculty and enjoys sharing what he’s learnt with other students, especially interpretation skills, Eric’s particular field of interest.
