The Faculty annual Summer School is one of the world’s best-known astrological events, attracting students from many countries to the beautiful city of Oxford to enjoy the weekend and five-day courses.
The programme caters for a range of levels, from relative beginners through to students and practitioners at advanced or professional level. With our world-class team of experienced guest tutors providing an exciting and dynamic programme of study, Summer School offers you a chance to work in depth with astrology, developing knowledge of new subjects and techniques, and deepening your understanding of existing ones. ALEJO LÓPEZ
DFAstrolSis a licensed psychologist with a second degree in performing arts and an MA in Cultural Astronomy and Astrology from the Sophia Centre at the University of Wales Trinity Saint David, where he received the 2023-24 Alumni Association Dissertation Prize. He is training to become a certified Jungian Analyst with the International Association of Analytical Psychology (IAAP). Alejo works as a consultant astrologer and psychologist, aiming to foster self-awareness. He believes astrology’s symbolic language enables deep dialogue with hidden aspects of the self, guiding individuals toward authentic self-discovery.
DRAGANA VAN DE MOORTEL-ILIĆ
DFAstrolShas been working as a professional astrologer since 1990. Her passion lies in observing celestial elements of Byzantine frescoes and the discourse of medieval Christian symbology with heaven. Dragana is a Faculty online tutor, the Summer School Programme Co-ordinator and a Council member. She has an MA in Cultural Astronomy and Astrology from the University of Wales Trinity Saint David and is currently undertaking further research in history at Oxford University.
STEFANIE GUTWENGER
DFAstrolSlives in Vienna (Austria) and has been fascinated by astrology since her teenage years. In her twenties, she decided to study with the Faculty in parallel to her career in banking. After a Jupiter cycle she gained her diploma in 2019 and shortly thereafter started to work as a professional astrologer and distance learning tutor for the Faculty. Stefanie is also interested in horary astrology. In 2025 she gained the School of Traditional Astrology’s Practitioners Level Horary Course Certificate.
Marielle CHURAQUI
DFAstrolSis a London-based astrologer who gained the Faculty Diploma in 2008 and an MA in Cultural Astronomy and Astrology from the University of Wales Trinity Saint David in 2012. She is a tutor and the Treasurer of the Faculty. Her approach to astrology is inspired by Jungian ideas, particularly James Hillman’s concept of soul. She also teaches yoga, using yoga techniques to explore astrological themes.
