The four angles of the chart form the structural backbone of astrological interpretation. In this interactive workshop, we begin by consolidating our astronomical understanding of the Ascendant, Descendant, Midheaven and IC, and reviewing how we interpret them in practice.
From there, we introduce what some astrologers describe as the “third angle”: the Vertex.
The Vertex has long intrigued astrologers for its association with encounters that feel fated, compelling or transformative. As Brian Clark observes, while the Descendant may describe the qualities we consciously seek in relationship, the Vertex appears to signify more compelling and unconscious bonds stirred through alliance.
When activated by transit, progression or synastry, the Vertex is often linked to pivotal meetings and turning points, moments when significant individuals seem to enter or leave our lives through a symbolic doorway.
This session will combine clear astronomical grounding with applied chart work. Participants are encouraged to bring their own chart, noting the position of the Vertex, in order to explore its relevance in lived experience.
A thoughtful and practical workshop for those wishing to refine their understanding of angles and deepen their interpretative skill.
