The Faculty annual Summer School is one of the world’s best-known astrological events, attracting students from many countries to the beautiful city of Oxford to enjoy the weekend and five-day courses.

The programme caters for a range of levels, from relative beginners through to students and practitioners at advanced or professional level. With our world-class team of experienced guest tutors providing an exciting and dynamic programme of study, Summer School offers you a chance to work in depth with astrology, developing knowledge of new subjects and techniques, and deepening your understanding of existing ones. The Faculty will do its very best to make you feel welcome and at home. Dr Laurence Hillman

Raised in Zürich, Switzerland, Laurence is a full-time astrologer, consultant, teacher, writer and lecturer. He has been practicing astrology for 48 years. Laurence has conducted workshops at Shakespeare’s Globe Theatre in London and in Findhorn, taught at multiple universities and co-taught with his father James Hillman. He is the author of several books and articles. Laurence holds degrees in architecture, business, engineering and a PhD in Psychology. He lives with his wife Cindy in St. Louis in the US.

Darby Costello

began learning astrology in the late 1960s in America. She began her practice in Southern Africa in the early 70s. Coming to England in the 80s, she began teaching at the Centre for Psychological Astrology (CPA) and was soon teaching internationally. She has written several astrology books and received an MA in Cultural Astronomy and Astrology from Bath Spa University in 2006 and the Charles Harvey Award in 2013. Her consultation practice continues to be at the very heart of her working life as an astrologer.

MÓNICA TEIXEIRA

DFAstrolS

has been a Faculty tutor since 2017 and the Head of Exams between 2022 and 2024. She holds an Informatics degree from the University of Lisbon and an International Certification in Coaching. She worked as a software engineer in the eHealth industry for twenty years. Since 2017, she has been fully dedicated to astrology and her greatest satisfaction is in helping people through astrological consultations.

Marielle CHURAQUI

DFAstrolS

is a London-based astrologer who gained the Faculty Diploma in 2008 and an MA in Cultural Astronomy and Astrology from the University of Wales Trinity Saint David in 2012. She is a tutor and the Treasurer of the Faculty. Her approach to astrology is inspired by Jungian ideas, particularly James Hillman’s concept of soul. She also teaches yoga, using yoga techniques to explore astrological themes.
