The Faculty annual Summer School is one of the world’s best-known astrological events, attracting students from many countries to the beautiful city of Oxford to enjoy the weekend and five-day courses.
The programme caters for a range of levels, from relative beginners through to students and practitioners at advanced or professional level. Lindsay Gladstone
DFAstrolSis a consultant astrologer. She is a former Faculty Head of Exams, tutor and Summer School Registrar. Enchanted by the mysteries of the divine, she observes the contemplative route of the heart/mind philosophies of medieval Middle Eastern mystics. Archaeology and the study of shamanic practices are her abiding passions. She holds an MA in Myth, Cosmology and the Sacred from Canterbury Christ Church University.
Clare Martin
DFAstrolSis a psychotherapist and has been a practicing astrologer, lecturer and teacher since 1990. She was a tutor and supervisor at the Centre for Psychological Astrology, and President of the Faculty of Astrological Studies for nine years. She has written a three-volume introduction to psychological astrology: Mapping the Psyche and Alchemy: The Soul of Astrology. Her latest book, Star-Crossed, explores the astrology of personality theory and the meeting of opposites.
ALEJO LÓPEZ
DFAstrolSis a licensed psychologist with a second degree in performing arts and an MA in Cultural Astronomy and Astrology from the Sophia Centre at the University of Wales Trinity Saint David, where he received the 2023-24 Alumni Association Dissertation Prize. He is training to become a certified Jungian Analyst with the International Association of Analytical Psychology (IAAP). Alejo works as a consultant astrologer and psychologist, aiming to foster self-awareness. He believes astrology’s symbolic language enables deep dialogue with hidden aspects of the self, guiding individuals toward authentic self-discovery.
Dr Chris Mitchell
has a PhD on the topic of medieval astrology and is a tutor on the MA course in Cultural Astronomy and Astrology at the University of Wales Trinity Saint David. He is on the boards of the Astrological Association and the Association of Professional Astrologers International (APAI), and has given talks to groups and conferences in Europe and the US. He is the author of England's First Astrology Book, and was the joint recipient of the Charles Harvey Award for Exceptional Service to Astrology in 2021.
