The Faculty annual Summer School is one of the world’s best-known astrological events, attracting students from many countries to the beautiful city of Oxford to enjoy the weekend and five-day courses.
The programme caters for a range of levels, from relative beginners through to students and practitioners at advanced or professional level. With our world-class team of experienced guest tutors providing an exciting and dynamic programme of study, Summer School offers you a chance to work in depth with astrology, developing knowledge of new subjects and techniques, and deepening your understanding of existing ones. World class tutors
BERNA LEE 李映晴
is a doctoral researcher and astrologer, and a 45th-generation descendant of the Tang royal lineage. After completing her MA at the University of Wales Trinity Saint David, she created its first academic short course in Chinese cultural astronomy and astrology. Trained in her family’s metaphysical lineage, she has assisted her father’s work, taught meditation for years, and worked with Chinese arts and antiques, integrating tradition with contemporary perspectives to support self-growth.
ITZIAR AZKONA
DFAstrolSis a Faculty tutor. She studied Sociology and Politics and has an MSc from the University of Surrey in Social Research Methods. Since 2000, when she discovered astrology, she has followed a path of studying and practising astrology in depth, especially since enrolling with the Faculty. In her commitment to astrology, Itziar volunteers as one of the editors of Revista Stellium, the main astrological magazine in Spanish; professionally, she is an astrological tutor and facilitates personal initiations through astrology
Rod Chang
Guest Tutorhas studied astrology for over thirty years and he has spoken at several international conferences in Poland, UK, Portugal, China, Japan and Australia. Rod has been invited several times to teach at the Faculty of Astrological Studies Summer School in Oxford. His main areas of interest are fixed stars, comets, mundane astrology, financial astrology, astronomy and astromapping, and he takes a humanistic approach to astrology. Rod is also an experienced astrophotographer
STEFANIE GUTWENGER
DFAstrolSlives in Vienna (Austria) and has been fascinated by astrology since her teenage years. In her twenties, she decided to study with the Faculty in parallel to her career in banking. After a Jupiter cycle she gained her diploma in 2019 and shortly thereafter started to work as a professional astrologer and distance learning tutor for the Faculty. Stefanie is also interested in horary astrology. In 2025 she gained the School of Traditional Astrology’s Practitioners Level Horary Course Certificate.
